The Houghton International Horse Trials incorporating the FEI Nations Cup has it all; exhilarating sporting action, a spectacular setting, entertainment for young and old, plus shopping at over 70 trade stands. Set in the magnificent grounds of Houghton Hall, Norfolk, this truly is one of the most outstanding venues within the sport of eventing.
After gaining International status in 2007 the event now welcomes over 700 horses each year, including more than 350 International competitors. It hosts the only British leg of the FEI Nations Cup, a series where teams from as far afield as Australia and New Zealand battle it out to top the table come the final event at Boekelo, Holland, in October. In addition Houghton also hosts the Askham Bryan U21 National Championships.

Arena Competitions: Running alongside the International event, there are also a variety of competitions which take place in the three arenas. Competitions include Affiliated British Showjumping, Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse, Combined Training, Sema Lease Arena Eventing, Nags Essentials Unaffiliated Showjumping, Unaffiliated Dressage and Horsezone Pony Club Team Showjumping. Children’s Entertainment: Razz and Pearl’s Circus Workshops provide fantastic entertainment for children of all ages. Whether it’s balloon animals or spinning plates, they’ve got it all. Cross Country: The exciting cross country phase will take place on Saturday 28th May for the CCI*, CCI** and CCIYR** competitors, and on Sunday 29th May for the CICO*** Nations Cup competitors.
Dogs: We welcome well behaved dogs to the event, but they must be kept on a short lead at all times, and we ask that owners are respectful and clear up after their dogs. Please do not leave dogs unattended in locked vehicles. If an unattended dog is found, the RSPCA will be informed and the appropriate action will be taken. Please note that dogs are not allowed in the VIP hospitality marquee.
Vintage Fair: Throughout the event we will have a vintage zone, run by Britain Does Vintage, with the very best, handpicked vintage traders from around the country. Alongside this there will be a vintage tearoom serving afternoon teas, tea and cakes, fresh juices and more – all on vintage crockery and glasswares – creating the perfect quintessential occasion! Shopping: With over 70 exhibitors, there are plenty of opportunities to grab a bargain. There’s everything on offer including country clothing, equestrian supplies, local produce and garden furniture. There will also be a range of catering stands, so you should find something to tickle your tastebuds. There is a licensed bar onsite, located within the main marquee.

Official Charity: Walking with the Wounded are the 2016 official charity, they will be hosting a cricket match on Saturday 28th May at the Houghton International Horse Trials. Learn more here.
