Wrapping it up, until next season!
As the 2025 eventing season comes to a close, we want to take a moment to reflect on what an incredible year it’s been – and to thank everyone who helped make it possible.
From bees buzzing in the dressage arenas to weekends of boiling hot sunshine, our riders, sponsors, officials, and especially our volunteers have kept things running with enthusiasm and dedication from start to finish. We truly couldn’t do it without you – your energy, commitment, and good humour make every Musketeer event what it is.
This year also brings a very special and emotional farewell to Ann, who is retiring from her much-loved “bun run” after an incredible 25 years. Ann has been such a huge part of the Musketeer family – keeping everyone fuelled, happy, and full of laughter whatever the weather. We’ll miss her dearly, but we’re so grateful for all the years of care, kindness and cake she’s given to us all.
A huge thank you also goes to Kay and Steve, who do an outstanding job organising all of our fence judges. It’s no small task, coordinating such a vital team takes patience, precision, and a lot of hard work behind the scenes. Their efforts ensure our cross-country days run smoothly and safely, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything they do.
This time, a special shout-out to Jenny, our brilliant event organiser. It’s safe to say that every time we’ve seen her this year, she’s been in a cast of some sort…yet still running the show like a pro! Here’s to 2026 bringing fewer injuries and no casts for Jenny, or anyone for that matter!
As we wrap up the 2025 season, our focus turns to 2026. Trade stand applications are now open for the Barefoot Retreats Burnham Market Horse Trials, taking place from April 17th to 19th. It’s one of the first major fixtures of the year and a favourite with riders and spectators alike, a fantastic opportunity to get involved in an iconic coastal event.
To everyone who’s supported us this year – whether as a volunteer, competitor, sponsor, or visitor – thank you. Your continued enthusiasm and hard work make every season possible. We can’t wait to welcome you all back next year for another brilliant season of Musketeer events.
