Barefoot Estates Burnham Market International Horse Trials 2016 is proud to be part of The Shearwater Insurance Tri Star Grand Slam. For more information click here.
The Barefoot Estates Burnham Market International Horse Trials is based in North West Norfolk and is one of the county’s finest events where visitors can see Olympic and Championship athletes competing on home turf.
The first event ran at Sussex Farm in 1999, and over the years it has become well established within the eventing calendar. It was awarded international status in 2003 and now the event hosts a range of classes from BE100 through to CIC***.
There are two international classes, CIC** and CIC***, held over the three days. Both are classed as ‘one-day’ events, which means they perform their dressage test on either Thursday or Friday and complete the show jumping, followed by the cross country on Saturday. (Click here for more information about the three phases of eventing)
Riders who regularly compete at Burnham Market include Team GB Olympians Zara Phillips, William Fox-Pitt, Pippa Funnell and Mary King, and local girl and past European Silver Medalist, Piggy French.
The Barefoot Estates Burnham Market International offers a fantastic day out for all the family. Alongside the top class competition, there will be over 50 shops and, for the children, bungee trampolines, bouncy castles and a climbing wall. Razz and Pearl will be performing circus workshops. Plus we have Cyril the Squirrel and his Racing Terriers performing on both Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd April. This is a great family day out!
