Weatherbys Private Banking Cholmondeley Castle

The only place to be on 1st & 2nd August

Now in its fifth year as host to a British Eventing horse trials, the stunning Cholmondeley Estate – with the backdrop of a breathtaking 19th century Castle, owned by the same family as Houghton Hall in Norfolk – is transforming once more into the perfect competition venue.

No stone has been left unturned in course preparation and on-site facilities. Most notably, title sponsors Weatherbys Private Banking will be hosting a marquee close to the water jump where all riders and owners are welcome to drop in for drinks and nibbles from 10.30am each day.

Aside from the competitive action, there will be a range of tradestands to tempt the eager shopper, from A&M Saddlery to Younique UK, Casada and Millies Munchies. Entry costs just £5 per vehicle, including all occupants, making this one of the best value days out for families and friends in the north-west

With classes running from BE100 to Open Intermediate, Cholmondeley regularly attracts some of the biggest names in the sport and 2015 is no different. Andrew Nicholson has five entries as does Oliver Townend, whilst Irish team players Aoife Clarke and Mark Kyle, British 4* winner Ruth Edge, China’s Olympian Alex Hua Tian and Dutch team stalwart Andy Heffernan are all amongst those throwing their hats into the ring. Entries are still open so no doubt more names will be added to the Who’s Who of eventing before the action kicks off.

Gates open at 8.30am each day.
