Walking With The Wounded joins forces with Houghton International
We are delighted to announce Walking With The Wounded as Houghton International 2016’s official charity.
It will be an exciting year for us as Houghton celebrates its 10th Anniversary in 2016. Plans are already well underway to make it the best event yet, and with the involvement of the Norfolk based charity Walking With The Wounded a new raft of opportunities has opened up. Everything is being kept under wraps for now, but the dates (26th-29th May 2016) should be put firmly in the diaries of both equestrian followers and all those looking for a great day out in the stunning grounds of Houghton Hall.
Edward Parker, co-founder and CEO of Walking With The Wounded, commented: “We are thrilled to be the charitable beneficiary of Houghton International 2016, particularly on such an exciting year for Houghton as they celebrate their 10th anniversary.
“Houghton International 2016 will not only afford us an opportunity to raise our profile, it will generate crucial funds for our programmes which provide vulnerable veterans’ independence through employment.”
Event Director Alec Lochore added: “I couldn’t be more delighted to work alongside such an inspirational group of people. Walking With The Wounded provides a crucial service for injured veterans, to whom we are all so indebted. Not surprisingly its team has already brought innovative suggestions to the table that will not only raise funds for, and awareness of, the charity, but provide spectacular entertainment for visitors to the Horse Trials.”
