As we gear up for the start of the season, starting with Burnham Market International 1st -3rd April, we have a number of work experience positions available, either for the whole season or at stated dates below. At Musketeer Event Management you will work along side a fun and friendly team helping run our events across the country doing a varied and rewarding tasks. If you are looking to gain essential experience working in the events world, wanting to do something with substance to put on your CV or are just interested in all things horsey and want too see how it all works behind the scenes, then please have look at the opportunities below and if you think any positions could be suitable for we would love to hear from you!

Burnham Market International – Admin / Work Experience Position (Monday 21st March – Monday 4th April 2016)

The successful applicant will be assisting in the organisation, preparation and running of the Burnham Market International Horse Trials (1st – 3rd April 2016).  Based in Brancaster, Norfolk, you will be expected to work long hours and weekends.

The roles and responsibilities for the available position will include:

  • Assist in the general preparation of the events which will include working outside
  • Work front of house during the event
  • Liaise with officials and volunteers
  • Help manage social media platforms

Houghton International – Admin / Work Experience Work Experience Position (Monday 16th May – Friday 3rd June 2016)

The successful applicant will be assisting in the organisation, preparation and running of the Houghton International Horse Trials (26th – 29th May 2016).  Based in Brancaster, Norfolk, you will be expected to work long hours and weekends.

The roles and responsibilities for the available position will include:

  • Assist in the general preparation of the events which will include working outside
  • Work front of house during the event
  • Assist in the management of the many additional classes and arena activities
  • Liaise with officials and volunteers
  • Help manage social media platforms

The Pony Club Championships – Admin Volunteer / Work Experience Position (Tuesday 2nd August – Friday 26th August 2016)

The successful applicant will be assisting in the organisation, preparation and running of The Pony Club Championships (19th – 23rd August 2016).  Although based in Brancaster, Norfolk you will be expected to travel across to Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire with the team.

The roles and responsibilities for the available position will include:

  • Assist in the general preparation of the events which will include working outside
  • Working as part of the stable management team during the event
  • Assist in the administration of stable bookings

Key skills required for all three Work Experience Positions include:

  • Work long hours, plus some weekends, under pressure!
  • Be a strong team member
  • Good administrative skills, including working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong time management skills and self-motivation
  • Confidence and assertiveness
  • Attention to detail
  • A real enthusiasm for creating quality events
  • Driving licence and car
  • Enjoy seeing hard work making great successful events!

Please note there is a degree of flexibility with the start and finish dates if necessary.

Although these are Admin Volunteer / Work Experience placements, successful applicants will have their expenses covered, plus accommodation can be provided if necessary.
