We are so excited to open our doors fully and welcome back all our spectators to Houghton International Horse Trials.
Admissions will be with tickets purchased online or on the gate. Please go to our box office to purchase tickets. The admission entitles spectators to enter the event site, which includes the trade stand area, cross country course and Houghton Hall Park, but will not gain access to Houghton Hall itself or Houghton Gardens. Should you wish to visit the Hall or Gardens, please visit www.houghtonhall.com
Trade Stands: There will be a number of trade stands and catering concessions on site for you to visit. A list will be available nearer the time.
Owners: Registered owners of horse(s) competing will not be restricted to one per horse and will be able to gain entry to the horse trials using the QR code provided with their British Eventing membership. This can be downloaded from their members profile on the British Eventing website. For those requiring additional owners onsite, or for owners registered with an overseas federation, please email .
Children: Children aged 4 or under are free. The child tariff refers to children between the ages of 5 and 14 years old.
Opening Times: Gates will open daily at 8am and remain open until the end of competition each day (usually around 18:00).
General Parking: Please note there is no charge for general parking.
Picnic Parking: There are a limited number of parking places available near to the water jump (Saturday and Sunday only), which will provide a fabulous place to have a picnic in the middle of the cross country course. These parking places can only be purchased in advance and are allocated on a first come, first served basis. The price is for parking only and does not include any vehicle occupants, these must be purchased separately. (No minibuses or caravans)

Unfortunately, the Hospitality Marquee does not allow dogs (other than Assistance Dogs) to be admitted at any time.

Caravan and Camping
We are delighted to offer our visitors the exclusive chance to stay on-site at the Houghton International Horse Trials. The campsite is just a short walk from the main arena and will have toilets and shower facilities nearby. There are a variety of different options available, depending on whether you wish to stay for the whole event or just the weekend.
Season Pitch from 12.00hrs, Wednesday 25th – Sunday 29th May 2022
Weekend Pitch from 17.00hrs, Friday 27th – Sunday 29th May 2022
Caravans, motorhomes, tents and horseboxes are all welcome. The campsite will be open from 12 noon on Wednesday 25th May – Sunday 29th May 2022. For each booked pitch, you will receive the following:
– 1 x Campsite vehicle pass, admitting either a car with caravan or tent, a motorhome or a horsebox
– 2 x Admission tickets for the relevant days (unless purchasing single nights, when admission must be purchased separately)
Campsite Terms and Conditions
Campsite pitches must be purchased in advance
The Camping Box Office closes on Sunday the 15th May 2022 – no bookings for the campsite will be taken after this date
Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian – no under 18s may camp unsupervised. The organisers reserve the right to refuse admission to unaccompanied under 18s
Dogs are permitted, but must be kept on leads at all times. Owners must clear up after their dogs and under no circumstances are dogs to be left in caravans or vehicles during the day
Generators are permitted, providing they are appropriately earthed and fuel is stored correctly
Campers are requested to respect other guests and keep the noise (including generator noise) to a reasonable level – quiet hours will be in effect between 11pm and 7am. Any campers repeatedly making excessive noise or behaving in an antisocial manner may be ejected from the camp site at the organiser’s discretion – no refunds will be given.
