End of 2015 Season Review

Here we are again – wellies for flip flops, rugs for fly spray – winter is here and it will soon be Christmas! Each year the eventing season seems to go faster and faster, and although we are always glad to reach the end of our season, there’s always that part of us that can’t wait for the next one to kick off in March!
This is the time of year when we get a chance to take stock and review the 2015 events. Our season kicked off at the Bacon.co.uk Burnham Market International which was a great success, Oliver Townend cleaned up in both the CIC3* and CIC2*. We then went onto holding the inaugural Horsezone.co.uk Whitfield Horse Trials, where we met some new faces. We had lots of great feedback from the competitors and participants and we are looking forward to coming back in 2016.
Houghton International was again a hive of activity; from hosting the only British leg of the FEI Nations Cup to the Horsezone.co.uk Pony Club Team Showjumping. Next year is our 10th Anniversary of Houghton International Horse Trials and we have lots of plans and ideas up our sleeve to make this the biggest and most impressive Houghton yet… Keep checking our ‘Latest News’ to see our exciting 2016 plans and press releases
Over to Cheshire, and the running of the Weatherbys Private Banking Cholmondeley Castle Horse Trials. Andrew Nicholson won the Intermediate and the Open Intermediate. The Pony Club Championships saw all the very best young talent competing in a broad range of competitions, including three levels of eventing, polocrosse and the musical ride, always a favourite with the spectators. Both events are set in the stunning parkland of Cholmondeley Castle and a pleasure to be involved with.
At Burghley Horse Trials we organised a course walk for our volunteers that have helped us over the year. Mary King was great and her in-depth knowledge of the course was very interesting. We also cheered on our own Emily Lochore round Burghley; her long awaited return after 15 years!
There’s not much rest for the wicked at Musketeer with plans already being laid for the 2016 events, with venue layouts being reviewed, new sponsors coming on board, trade stand applications and box office prices being confirmed.
We will be announcing our 2016 dates next week here on our latest new, so please come back and make sure you put them in your diary.
